• Hand holding leash string

    1. Prepare Leash String

    • Your leash string will come tied in a loop as pictured. There will be a double knot at one end that will need to be adjusted and firmly retied.

  • Hand inserting leash string into surfboard

    2. Insert Leash String

    • Inset the loop side of the leash string into the back end of the leash plug, sliding it under the bar. You may need a tool like a fin key to help feed the string through.

    3. Secure Leash String

    • Feed the protruding loop end of the string back through the knot side closest to you and pull it through until the knot is tight to the leash plug.

    • The leash string must not protrude beyond the tail of your board when pulled tight, as this will damage your board. If it does, shorten the loop by firmly tying the double knot further down.

  • Surfboard leash fully attached to surfboard

    4. Attach Leash

    • With the leash string the correct length, insert the rail saver of the leash and secure it with the triple wrap velcro. When pulled tight, the rail saver should be touching the edge of your board's tail, not the leash string.
