• 1. Prepare Fin Boxes

    • Your fin boxes must be clean for easy fin insertion and a proper fit.

    • Use a water hose to clean out any sand or debris that may be in the fin boxes.

    • Some fin boxes may have fiberglass residue in them from the factory. If so, use a razor to trim out any fiberglass from the fin tab slots and screw holes.

  • 2. Insert Fins

    • Twin Tab (FCS): Place the fins with their tabs aligned with the screw holes in the fin boxes.

    • Single Tab (Futures): Place the back end of the fins in the boxes, latching them onto the tab. With the back of the fins secured, push the front end down into the boxes.

  • 3. Adjust Fins

    • Make sure all the fins are sitting flush in the fin boxes. There should be none of the fin tab showing and the fin should be close to, or touching the board. Press down firmly until there is a proper fit.

  • 4. Tighten Fin Box Screws

    • Twin Tab (FCS): Insert 2 screws per fin box. Start the screws carefully to avoid cross-threading. Tighten each side in an alternating fashion to distribute tension equally. Tighten the screws firmly until they are relatively difficult to tighten further, but do not over-tighten as this can strip the threads.

    • Single Tab (Futures): Insert one screw per fin box. Start the screws carefully to avoid cross-threading. Tighten the screws firmly until they are relatively difficult to tighten further, but do not over-tighten as this can strip the threads.
